Toaha Qureshi MBE News item
The community shared a proud moment when, Toaha Qureshi MBE, CEO Stockwell Green Community Services (SGCS), was placed in the Honours Award list by Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II in February 2010. Toaha Qureshi MBE, visited Buckingham Palace to receive his award. When asked how it was like to meet the Queen, Mr. Qureshi said, “She seemed to know a fair bit about me, and the work that I had been doing before 9/11 and 7/7. She asked if I was writing a book, to which I replied I was. She then asked for a copy to be sent to her once it was completed.”
Mr. Qureshi is currently half way through writing his book, and promises to take us through an insightful journey, of someone who has helped the local and international community on a range of issues such as enhancing tolerance and understanding amongst communities, building the capacity of communities, countering radicalisation, and more.
